Studies related to environmental quality have shown that ozone pollution is more serious in summer compared to winter, and VOCs volatile organic compounds are the main substances that form ozone. Therefore, some people say that the winter will not need to pay attention to the treatment of vocs. Is this true? What is the difference between the treatment of vocs in winter and summer? What are the difficulties?
VOCs refers to a variety of organic compounds at room temperature, boiling point of 50 degrees Celsius to 260 degrees Celsius, these compounds have two characteristics, one is volatile or semi-volatile at room temperature, and second, there are thousands of species. The volatility increases as the temperature rises, so that emissions of VOCs are significantly higher in summer than in winter.
Summer VOCs partly from plant emissions, which accounted for about 30% -40%; to the winter, with the temperature drop and the weakening of solar radiation, plant activity is reduced, most of them enter the dormant period, VOCs emissions are greatly reduced, the atmosphere at this time VOCs are mainly from anthropogenic emissions.
Anthropogenic emissions also vary according to seasonal changes. For example, common sources of VOCs emissions are motor vehicle emissions, oil volatilization leaks, solvent use, printing coatings, etc. However, in the winter, especially in the northern region, there is also a large portion of VOCs coming from the heating combustion process. Due to the increased use of natural gas, coal combustion process will also produce a large number of VOCs, especially some oxygenated organic compounds or some polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, a direct hazard to human health.
VOCs treatment has a "summer disease, winter treatment" said. The so-called "summer disease winter cure", that is, VOCs management in the summer before the arrival of ozone pollution prevention and control will play a multiplier effect. In fact, VOCs emissions "summer disease winter treatment" has a golden period, spring in April and May when the ozone concentration began to rise, so every year after November - before April is the VOCs removal equipment overhaul and testing, replacement of the best "window period".
In view of the above reasons, regardless of the season, the control of VOCs is a normalized, must be carried out on a daily basis.
Currently, the zeolite rotor system has become a globally recognized high-efficiency adsorption and concentration technology. For large air volume, low concentration of conventional VOCs, the adsorption concentration of the rotor is ideal for process selection.
