When we understand the risk of activated carbon VOCs adsorption device, according to the actual situation, can be targeted, take some targeted measures. In general, from the perspective of preventing the formation of the three elements of combustion, from the source design, engineering and management measures to go up to the force, and ultimately can be adsorption device risk down to an acceptable range. The following are some suggested measures:

① For equipment such as reaction tanks, storage tanks, filters, etc., which will produce high concentrations of VOCs, in order to avoid the formation of explosive mixtures with oxygen, it is best to protect them with a nitrogen sealing system and deliver them to the exhaust gas mains under positive pressure.

② Ensure that the condensing device for VOCs meets the production load, and all exhaust gas components must be effectively condensed to reduce the concentration of organic gases. Incompatible exhaust gases should be individually pretreated and then discharged into the adsorption tank for adsorption treatment.

③ Activated carbon selection: use activated carbon with high ignition temperature and low ash content as adsorption material.

(iv) Cool down the adsorption device if conditions permit.

⑤ Regularly check the treatment device and exhaust gas piping for incomplete air leakage, and make sure that there is no air leakage in the piping.

⑥ Install a pipe flame arrestor (explosion-proof boom type) in the waste gas pipeline before the adsorption treatment device; install a bursting disc on the pipeline (in sections), and install a bursting plate on the waste gas buffer tank, and the bursting plate should be fixed; ⑦ Install a shower in the adsorption treatment device to ensure that there is no air leakage.

⑦ adsorption device installed within the sprinkler fire extinguishing device, used to extinguish the initial fire (or directly add the water pipeline) manually or automatically open.

⑧ temperature probe installed in the adsorption bed, monitoring the temperature of the activated carbon layer found abnormalities in a timely manner.

⑨ Emergency response and personnel training. Training personnel in the event of fire emergency response capabilities, to be able to extinguish the adsorption treatment device fire in a timely manner to prevent the spread of fire.
